I am currently using livemedia as my rtsp client, however, I am suffering a problem, which the timeout parameter on the DescribeWithPassword and describeURL functions doesn't seems to work. Therefore when connection fail at start, the program will have to wait for a very long time. Can you think of why or have I done anything wrong.
Not really, unfortunately. I suggest tracing through those functions' implementation (in "liveMedia/RTSPClient.hh") to try to figure out what's going wrong.
(However, a completely new implementation of "RTSPClient" is coming soon (hopefully within days). It might fix your problem.)
