(CNN) -- A rescue operation is under way in central Indonesia after a
passenger ferry capsized with about 250 people on board, the rescue
chief told CNN on Sunday.
So far, 18 passengers have been rescued, according to R. Arsono, the
head of the local rescue agency in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
The Teratai Prima ferry left Pare Pare in South Sulawesi on Saturday
evening and overturned off the coast of Majena in West Sulawesi, he
said.
Indonesian navy, police and local search and rescue agencies are
searching for the missing passengers, Arsono said.
