With power consumption reaching 37,000 megawatts [breaking the old record of 36,268 megawatts set on Jan 15 2004], Hydro Quebec is asking customers to conserve energy as much as possible during the current extreme cold weather. Hydro is leading by example, blacking out the iconic logo on its downtown Montreal headquarters for the duration. Montreal currently experiencing a windchill reading of -33 F.
