I just got in and came onto the tail end of a serious situation in GA. Dobbins AFB at US41 in Cobb County had a vehicle with a 'device' driven onto the base at 6PM. The driver fled saying the vehicle was dangerous, ie containing possibly a bomb. Military police, and Cobb County PD closed the entire area for 5000' in all directions. Military and Cobb County bomb squads, ATF etc all responded. A robot was used to take the car apart looking for the problem. I just got in around 11 PM and learned they finally blew up the device a few minutes ago. The area is still secure and no one is permitted in the area. Since Dobbins AFB sets on US41 and GA280 which are key routes it has created a traffic problem in Cobb County. The car has been neutralized when the device blew and the car then caught on fire. It may have been some form of dangerous chemical. The driver complained of feeling sick and is in military custody. My guess is that it might possibly have been chemicals related to a portable meth lab that spilled while in transit making the driver sick and irrational. More from Cobb PD PIO when they choose to make public exactly what happened. This incident has been active for five and a half hours so far. If this guy is a Muslim terrorist he has to be crazy to carry out an attack like this. They don't have a prayer if that is the best attack they can mount. IMHO it is more probably an idiot on drugs.
