Los Angeles Times | March 22, 2009 | 12:45 p.m. --- Fourth Oakland police officer dies Officer John Hege, 41, was pronounced dead today following a shootout Saturday with a parolee. He had been in grave condition. Hege is the fourth Oakland officer killed in shootings with parolee Lovelle Mixon. Sgt. Mark Dunakin, 40; Sgt. Ervin Romans, 43; and Sgt. Daniel Sakai, 35, also died.
