FAA spokesman Mike Fergus reporting single engine turboprop departed from Orville CA at 1100 Pacific time – flight plan to Bozeman MT. Plane crashed about 500 ft from the airport while attempting to land and caught fire. No known fatalities on the ground. Preliminary reports indicate the dead aboard the plane include ‘numerous children.’ Plane was registered to Eagle cap Leasing Inc in Enterprise OR. No word on who was operating the plane.
