'30 Rock,' Mad Men' repeat at Emmys; Host Neil Patrick Harris is the
night's big winner

Neil Patrick Harris may have lost the Emmy for supporting actor in a
comedy series tonight, but he's shaping up to be the big winner at the
61st annual Emmy Awards.

After last year's fiasco – having all five nominees in the reality-show
hosting category take turns at emceeing – Harris' self-depricating
humor, an ability to ad lib and his killer charm led winner after
winner to take time out of their acceptance speech to extol his
virtues. Jon Stewart proclaimed, "You're doing a wonderful job by the
way," and Jeff Probst, one of the hosts last year, said: "Neil Patrick
Harris, this is how you host the Emmys – nice job."

Glenn Close was a repeat winner for lead actress in a drama for her
win-at-all-costs attorney in FX's "Damages." Michael Emerson won
supporting actor in a drama series for ABC's "Lost," and Cherry Jones
won for supporting actress for playing the female president of the
United States on Fox' "24." "Wowza!" said Jones, who profusely thanked
the cast and crew and promised that the statuette would be on display
at the craft service table Monday morning.
