The best way to find previously unknown leaks in your boat is to live on
your boat. They show up real quick that way.

The second best way is to pump out all the water from your bilge, then
vacuum your bilge completely dry. If you air condition your boat it
should dry out pretty quick after vacuuming and tehn you can break out a
high powered flashlight and watch for drips or oozing. look at allt eh
suspect areas in the bilge first- seacocks, raw water hoses to engine,
prop shaft gland, centerboard trunk, water tank, hoses, etc. then if
after about 10 or so minutes there is still no water in the bilge you
can move to testing the deck. Spray the deck with a water hose and see
if you can find any drips from above. Check scupper hoses, anchor
locker drain hoses, propane locker drain hoses, deck fittings, stanchion
bases, port lights, etc.

Good luck!

I don't know anything about your boat but if you have the boat hauled,
let
the hull dry a while and then add water to the bilge...look under the
hull
for the leak.
Sorry I don't have more.

Subject: lv-ab: SeaRunner question

Actual boat (not list) discussion :-)

I recently (early summer) bought a 1989 SeaRunner 34' Trimaran. I don't
have the original plans, unfortunately.

She appears to have a very minor leak (about 1/2 cup per week)
*somewhere* that drains into the bilge, showing up / visible just
forward
of the cockpit, in the bilge. Under that cockpit (just aft of this area)
is where a collapsible water tank on each side of the centerboard.

I've looked aft of the cockpit and the bilge is bone dry, so I think the
leak s located under the cockpit area - perhaps along the centerboard
joint. It *is* salt water (tasted it), so I dont think it's just the
tanks
leaking a bit, though I intend to pull them out next weekend just to be
sure.

Does anyone have plans for this boat/this part of the hull they can
share? Or more ideas for finding the leak?

thanks!
jim
