NO Walter, everything is NOT fine. Boiling a battery dry is caused by a 
poorly engineered or very old, ferroresonant charger. It is now likely 
damaging your AGM battery. You need a modern, 3 or 4-stage charger.

There is nothing wrong with lead-acid batteries, per se.
