We would like advice from someone with finish skill knowledge.

We know how to finish side walls but a floor area is causing
some debate here.

On Angel Louise we need to refinish the steps inside.
They are wood and get walked on daily. The old finish
has about totally worn off.

I presume we will sand down to good wood, but what is
the best finish to use.

Our concern is that it be hard and able to handle wear of
daily walking on it. We also want something so that if
there is any water that it not be too slippery, or are we
seeking contradictory things. We'd like it to look nice too.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
