Bob and I hauled the boat, replaced the cutlass bearing and put her back in the water. To haul the boat, we have to take down the forestays. That means taking off the sails. When we got the boat back in the water, we tried to put on the staysail the same day. Bob thought it would be OK, but it was too windy, and if someone from down the dock had not come and helped, I don't know what we would have done.
Bob has been wanting to cetol the brightwork, but it has been rainy and humid so he painted the afte cabin (two walls) Today we went down and put the jib on as it was calm. Putting the sails on was a necessary part of the to-do list which we wouldn't have left (except in an emergency) without doing those items. OTOH, varnishing the brightwork is on the to-do list, but we could sail without having done it. We have been known to be sailing (motoring) down the ICW with Bob polishing the stainless of the lifelines, and he built and painted a whisker pole while we were on a mooring in Key West, and put it up on the mast while we were anchored in the Dry Tortugas. > >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Peter Gelinas >Sent: Thursday, July 10, 2008 10:58 AM >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [Liveaboard] North Channel > >Never ever, ever, finish the last job on the 'to do' list. > >That's just asking for it! > >Peter >> > >Strangely enough, just last week I walked off the Sterling Lady , and said out >loud (which I should not have) Dang, everything on the boat is working! wow!! _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
