One time I was flying a small plane out of upstate, NY heading back to Teterboro. I listened to the latest wx and ATIS and both were referring to "cloudy with overcast ceiling at 8,000. The only problem as I sat on the FBO's ramp listening to this was that it was pouring rain (although with viz still good enough for VFR). I mentioned this to the local center and they told me that's what they were showing (the "forecast"). I told them to look out the @#$%^& window!!! They did and their only comment was "Oops!". The ATIS was changed about 5 minutes later..... Steve Weinstein S/V HYDRO-THERAPY 1981 Cherubini Hunter 33 Sailing out of Oyster Bay, NY
