One of my first prototypes was such, I don't like it.

1) too big

2) solar panel is expensive and can power the
light only

3) batteries are big and heavy and go bad sooner
or later

4) if too long goes by without enough light it
goes out

5) lots of things to go wrong and the light goes out

All this is prediclated on todays tech., for a
light as bright as a 'normal' anchor light that
can go a reasonable amount of time with low light
input for charging.

The advantages of a plug in pull up light are that
any solar panel can be bigger so cheaper and
charge the house bank as well, the batteries can
be large, cost effective and multi purpose house
bank, and the light can then be compact and
lightweight and cheaper and more reliable.

Tech can always change, though.-Ken
