Anytime, my strawberry blondie pal,
LOL.

The format of this List is not akin to
timely responses. I can't tell who wrote
what and said what when or why each
page is so full of add-ons and linkies
that I'm nearly cross-eyed. But it's how
we all stay in touch, guess that's all that
matters.

In Boot Key Harbor there are about 225
moorings now. Used to be about 60.
Doesn't fill up like it used to, but it can
fill up during the biggest months of
season (January-February).

Monthly rates are around $300 but it's
all-inclusive (showers, laundry, dinghy
dockage, trash disposal, etc.). You no
longer pay for showers but you will have
to drop cold cash in the washers and dryers.

They are building a new laundry and
bathhouse combination. Looks like it is
taking shape! It's needed and we all
appreciate the efforts of all those involved
in making it happen.

There is anchorage as soon as you clear
past the drawbridge and take a hard right.
I don't know if there is much room back
there, but I'd bet you could find a place
to snuggle in. Shallower draft (3')
makes it easier, lots of spaces in shallower
waters back there.

By law, you can anchor in the Harbor,
even outside the designated mooring field,
as long as you are at least 75 ft. away
from a mooring, AND you're not in the
protected grassbeds. Some folks come in
and have no clue that the huge open
areas are open for a reason... and it's
not because we knew they were coming!

Countless boats get stranded there in the
grassbeds (they're marked and it makes
no difference to some who get caught
salivating over their discovery of such
a deliciously delightful spot to anchor!).

No doubt Sea-Tow and Towboat U.S. have
sent many kids through college with the
proceeds. Ha.

There is anchorage west of the drawbridge,
but I wouldn't recommend it until all
abandoned boats are dealt with. It's just
not worth the risk. It is being dealt with now,
as you've read here on the list. Won't be
long before it will be designated a part of
the Harbor interior and will come under
rules and regs, that are in this case, needed.

So you won't have to be all the way
outside of the Harbor, my Dear. Come on
in and set a spell!

It will be good to get my arms around ya.

All the Best,

Charmaine
