Hiyaz Philip and Marilyn,

We have Mermaid 16,000 BTU reverse cycle air/heat combo central aboard. We
decided before we even moved aboard that AC would have to be available for a
hottie like me (kidding, kidding... talking about men-o-start -- I call it
that 'cause there's no "pause" in it that I can tell!).

The air is incredible and we've used it for six years without a hitch. Even
while at
anchor, when the heat outside gets oppressive, we can (and do) use the
central air via a gasoline Honda 2000 EU generator.

Sorry, we were talking about heat. With
the Mermaid and like reverse cycles... I would caution about the heat... I
find
it a very moist heat, so much so that I
usually have the alcohol oven on to keep things from getting damp.

In the Keys we never use the heat, but
we've been caught up north a few times when the heat came in handy on a few
exceptionally chilly nights.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "liveaboard usage." We live aboard and
use it. LOL Hope this helps!

Hugs,

Charmaine
