That is an issue many folks don't understand, it seems. Any thing  
other than plain text will add a whole bunch of extra data to the  
message. Charmaine's response (in bold with rich text formatting)  is  
an excellent example of the type of technical ignorance we're talking  
about here. It's not the list server that's the problem - it's  
individual's not understanding their mail clients and the data they're  
propagating.
Recognizing that some on the list are cruising, and therefore have  
limited data access is a kindness we should all embrace, IMHO. To send  
this message "plain text" I need to go to my Mail Application and tell  
it to do so (default is Rich Text). Unfortunately if someone is using  
a webmail client, they might not have that option.
