With a three-valve manifold, and careful selection of open and closed (*grin*), I can discharge from the toilet 1. into the holding tank, 2. overboard through the Electroscan (current generation replacement of Lectra/San)(where that is legal - outside of properly designated No Discharge Zones), or 3. directly overboard (where that is legal - well offshore only). Once in the holding tank, I can pump-out through a deck fitting or gravity drain directly overboard. Incidentally, I specifically spoke to Raritan about discharging through the Electroscan without operating it to simplify my installation. They strongly recommended against it. Also, no chemicals are required for either the Lectra/San or the Electroscan as long as the salinety of the flush water is sufficiently high. Inshore I use fresh water to flush so I dump some common table salt into the bowl with each use. That works fine. sail fast, dave S/V Auspicious _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
