cooking is butane.. 1 light in the main salon, sporadic small light in v berth.. electric blanket, V berth is isolated behind privacy curtain during day to keep the cold air down to a minium. We don't get sun on this side of the marina until 1pm most days. due to insulator factory next door's bldg.
Last year I heated a 25 foot wide by 35 foot long studio with 12 foot ceilings for $180/mnth in the winter.. I had two heaters.. one baseboard that i kept on 24/7 set on high.. and a smaller space heater that was turned on full blast when I was home.. the difference in space is dramatic in the extreme.. It has been on the local news the ridiculous increase in electric bills up here.. Last summer I ran a window A/c full time set on 60.. my bills ran around $50/month.. it ran all the time.. never could totally keep up.. Mike on the houseboat is got his Jan bill $400 and he keeps his boat at 60. This morning I got up to find the boat at 53 degrees, that is normal morning temp in here. To get it up to 70 I have to run two heaters.. yes wattage I am not sure about but it is around 1500 to 1800 watts.. both heaters are small enough to fit on the companionway step.
