I tried to find my water lines from the well into the house once. I got
a very positive indication across a specific line on my property. I
actually knew where the line was and wanted to confirm that the dowsing
rod theory worked. Much to my dismay the indication wasn't the water
line. It was a while before I realized I was detecting the overhead
power line. Water no, power yes. Two brass rods bent 90 degrees.
