Consider the use of a quality single weight oil such a 30 weight. In air
cooled engines (with thier higher internal temps over a water cooled engine)
they do not suffer the viscosity breakdown that ocures a multi-weight (5w-30,
10w-30, etc).
I have been running Castrol SAE 30 weight in a Honda EM7000 for over
3,500 hours of heavy use in central Florida. With the recommended 100 hour
change interval, there is no sign of any varnish or sludge in the engine or on
the valve train.

You don't need to do anything different for those operating conditions,
follow the manual recommendations, use the recommended grade of motor oil,
5-30W. I use conventional Castrol GTX. I can't get over how cheap these prices
are I paid $979 each for two generators.
