Lee: We're pretty satisfied with our Lectra San, but they *can* be sort of high maintenance. So far, our guests haven't found a way to mess it up, though. We did have to replace a circuit board that got a little corroded. It only takes a little. I made sure to soak the new one in T-9.
Regardless of which head you get, if you plan to spend any time in "no discharge" zones, I'd highly recommend that you include a large holding tank in your plans. We have found the pumpout facilities to be a big joke in Florida. With very few exceptions, they either don't exist or they are always "broke." Our holding tank is tiny since it never occurred to the PDQ folks when our boat was built in 1994 that there would be NDZ's to contend with. Don't rule out the composting heads. They are simple, use no amps, and you can forget about holding tanks and pumpouts. Also, there should not be any hassles from the poop patrols in the NDZ's. If our Lectra San totally craps out, we'll be looking into installing one ourselves. Good luck!
