We were anchored in Beaufort anchorage last spring when we lost a water
pump and had to toss out the anchor without aid of the engine to set the
anchor. The boat is 12 tons , 41' Using a 60 lb CQR, 100' chain and
about 20' of line in 15-17' of water. The wind was blowing over 25
knots with gusts to 40+ from the North. We didn't move. There were a
number of boats in the anchorage and none of them looked like they were
going anywhere.

Jim.
