My wife uses an Omego 7160-UD successfully for all but the heaviest layered stuff. She has a small business where she sews heavy fabrics and it has worked well. She bought it new last year from a Canadian company -- just Google "Omego". The company has been terrific answering questions and providing documentation. I believe that the machine cost in the range of $350 delivered. It's compact, comes with a plastic case, and is reasonably powerful.

Besides getting a very expensive industrial machine, what would the best used machine be for this kind of work? An old solid metal Singer comes to mind. Will something like that work? What do I need to look for to make sure I get the right one? Thanks,Verns/v Nirvelli. _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list Liveaboard@liveaboardonline.com To adjust your membership settings over the web http://liveaboardonline.com/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to liveaboard-j...@liveaboardonline.com To unsubscribe send an email to liveaboard-le...@liveaboardonline.com The archives are at http://www.liveaboardonline.com/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/liveaboard@liveaboardnow.org The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
