Sir,
Perhaps you should carefully re-read the posting.
1. All commands HAVE been cut and paste - as stated in one of the first
paragraphs ..."cut-n-pasted straight from the book...".
2. There have been many re-attempts from the very beginning - always starting
with fresh partitions on a dedicated drive.
3. Granted, the problem has been recognized via an additional command, though
the sanity test outlined in the book, and the actual patched source lead one to
believe that something else is broken - but where? However, rebuilding from the
beginning for the 9th time is unlikely to provide any additional info. Perhaps
there is something that needs to be investigated on the Live CD release?
3. This is NOT occurring with Live 6.2.5 CD - only 6.3 r2032/52.
4. Please explain why this post is off topic while other posts regarding
building under the Live CD releases are accepted and tolerated.
I only ask so that others may understand the apparent discrepancy. Again,
this problem only occurs under the LiveCD 6.3-r20XX releases, not by a failure
to follow the instructions in the released version 6.3 book.
5. Relatedly, how is one to determine which list to point to when building
according to the released book but utilizing the developing 6.3.x Live CD?
I am not baiting nor trying to inflame - only to gain more insight as to what
is occurring so that I can rectify the situation and continue on with my build
process. I have been building only since June '07, and I acknowledge that I am
not omnipotent on this matter. I must state that I had no real issues with
6.2.5 that I was not able to resolve myself. This one issues is just beyond my
knowledge set at this point.
Therefore, I simply inquired.
Respectfully,
ejb

This question is off-topic here.
You have already sent mail (correctly) to the lfs-support list, and they
answered (again, correctly) that the toolchain adjusting process went
wrong. Please erase /tools and start over again, this time copying and
pasting all commands instead of attempting to retype.
