OK, I have just checked in 1286 which enables the new Prefs code for all (as it was before). If you were having problems before with Prefs, please download and re-test.
Another thing which needs testing on a variety of machines: I have rewritten external window capture. So please try this: - start up a new window (e.g. konsole or xterm) Tools -> Capture External window - click on record unlimited, then pick the the window - after recording a few frames click "q" in the LiVES window - make sure the grabbed frames are rendered.
