maybe i'm missing something, but i can't get the ALSA port to work ever since
the first run.
i built 1.6.3 from source a few a days ago (on Ubuntu Studio 12.04 64bit). i had
all dependencies met and it compiled and installed just fine.
when i first ran it (using pulse) a 'Lives' port showed up in aconnectgui and i
was able to route a midi-controller into it, no problem.
ever since though, using either pulse or jack, that port fails to open or show
up.
i hadn't changed any of the preferences either, except for the temp directory.
any clues?
