I wanted to take the opportunity to thank Joseph for the Java
contribution. The Java code submitted is an implementation of the LLRP
encode/decode module that includes the machine description of LLRP, and
serialization libraries to XML as defined by the llrp-toolkit
architecture. It represents another milestone for the project and its
participants.
FYI: This Java code is generated from an LLRP machine description that
is different than the one posted in Common. Also, the serialization of
LLRP messages into XML follows a different schema that the one posted to
Common.
We now have two libraries, Java and C++ using different machine
descriptions and different XML serialization. It's great to see support
for multiple languages, and I see it in the best interest of this group
to merge the two descriptions and XML schema to create one that can be
used across language and platform. What does the group think?
For reference, the machine descriptions are located in
Common/llrpdef.xml (with XSD)
Java/src/codegen/llrp.xml
The XML serialization schema is located at
Common/llrp.xsd
(I don't know the location for the Java library XML schema as I can't
yet open the docs).
