Anyway, based on your code sample, I think we need an accessor that accepts a string of bytes. Do we have any volunteers for being primary maintainer of the Java contribution? Joe has first dibs obviously (thanks for your contribution Joe!) but with him not being on the list I get the impression that this subtree is starting out its life unmaintained. That's OK as long as we have a volunteer that is proficient with Java.
