Agreed.  As a group we discussed this at length and the majority of the
conversations should occur on the mailing list and this is the best way
for open source projects to exist and develop. But based on my
experience with many open source projects in the past it's also
critical to have check points to make sure integration issues/decision
points are happening and the project team is able to come to concensus.

So this is not a replacement for the mailing list but a high level
conversation and to date has proved to be extremely useful but needs to
be opened up to the larger audience to aviod critical decisions being
made by only the smaller group.

You are more the welcome to join these meetings in the future.
