I want to get some consensus on a target release date for a Beta version
of the LTK. I've seen great progress on all the libraries and want to
see if we can set a finish line date to work towareds.

I'd like the Beta target releases to include.

1) Features set:

Parse LLRP messages to and from Binary

Parse LTK-XML to and from internal objects

Support a simple connection and transaction API

Support vendor extensions via XXXdef.xml file additions
(run-time, compile-time, code generation time all OK)

            Usage documentation

            Build documentation

            Hello-LLRP sample code

2) Beta qualities:

Commitment to make only backward compatible API changes

            No known show-stopper bugs

Sufficient unit test coverage so the developer can sleep at
night knowing the toolkit will be useful

I think we want to have a Beta period that lasts about 4-8 weeks. This
will give enough time for people to integrate and use the toolkits in
applications and also give us time to develop the test cases necessary
to reach the quality for a final release.

OK, let's throw some dates out there. How about 1st week of October
(the 5th)? Library developers/leaders, Can you respond with some ideas?

Regards,

Paul
