Ubuntu has *pbuilder* which allows making a build for different versions.
pbuilder-dist trusty create
You download the files to build for a certain release, and then later
pbuilder-dist trusty build lmms_1.0.0-0ubuntu1.dsc (or whatever the file is)
So he could make builds for other versions.
When version 1.0.0 is released I will build a PPA for testing, and I'll be building the Trusty
package to propose for a merger.
Though in the testing one I'll be working on getting VST support into a separate file.
NOTE:
In the /debian/control
Toby wants this line
*Conflicts: wine1.7*
added, as he said: "This is because there's a bug in the WINE 1.7 development series causing VST plugins not to work." So all builds for all distros should take this into account (not sure how OpenSUSE, Fedora, Arch, etc... handles this)

Travis can make Ubuntu 12.04 builds only. There's no support for other
platforms.
I'm currently trying to use the OpenSuse Build Service (OBS
http://build.opensuse.org/) for this. It's able to build and pack for
several distros and also host the packages.
An own FTP server might not be needed if this works.

By "hosting builds" I meant a server to upload builds to and download
them from, however once sirmacik sets this up for us, we might also do the
processing there I guess. It might take a while since he's hardly available
lately.

I heard that Travis CI can do builds for us, but it won't host them,
so we need another place. Is this correct?

2014-01-28 Tres Finocchiaro <[email protected]>
Yeah, I can spring for it. Would need to run it by my business
partner, but he's a Linux lifer so should be feasible.

It has capabilities to offer additional logins, ssh, etc, but haven't
had much success.

Do you mind using my company domain name or should I buy a more
appropriate name?

John, I think I spoke out of turn. It's not a build environment.

what kind of bandwidth do you have
Unlimited, although I'm not sure what the pipe benchmarks at.

space
100 GB

Ram
I think 512MB, but I'm not sure.

It's a web server through a hosting company, so I think I
misunderstand what "Hosting builds" meant. I thought it was for the actual
precompiled binaries.

I can host downloads too. I have virtually unlimited storage

I'd be willing to share my credentials with Tobiasz as well if
he's the
point person for uploads.

I expect this to be temporary of course until the release
stabilizes.
