As far as I can tell, most of the instrument plugins have been written
specifically for LMMS and there are no versions or development of those
plugins outside of LMMS.

There are some exceptions like ZynAddSubFX, OpulenZ, sfxr, not sure
about Mallets.

I think most of these plugins that have some outside versions have
already been recently updated. Might want to check the situation on
ZynAddSubFX though, they at least seem to have a new UI, from what I can
see on their homepage?

Also, the Calf LADSPA plugins come to mind. The Calf plugins seem to
still be actively maintained, although I'm not sure about the LADSPA
versions specifically... but if there are newer versions, it would be
good to get them into LMMS.
