Sorry for the delay, busy busy, you know how it is.
Anyway here's what I'm thinking would work for the SID toggle buttons:
this way I think they'll really look the part, the C-64 power button
look becomes really obvious.
I also added some very subtle lighting on the background, and a bit of a
small dark border on the edges, which is a subtle effect but
surprisingly powerful when it's in actual use, makes it look better in
the instrument window.
I did this in GIMP but I can give you the .xcf if you want to see how
everything is done.
