No, all sounds rendered for all notes get mixed into the instrument's AudioPort. The problem here is sample-exactness as well as performance. The current ENV/LFO functions are not very generic but specific and fast (they even have different code paths for different ENV/LFO settings). I'd not give that up. The new note FX approach could both provide more flexibility and the performance we have already.
