Welcome Sam!

Here's a good resource to start:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/wiki/Coding-conventions

We have no strict requirements for contributions, partly because we review
code prior to merging, but mainly because we are in desperate need for
help. We also have no formal structure, but generally speaking, Vesa (i.e.
@diizy) and Toby (i.e @tobydox) primarily accept the code submissions, so
you'll see their names frequently. Lukas-W and myself (@tresf) can and do
accept code as well. and there are various others that help with the
website, social media, samples, etc. Other contributors include @andrewrk,
@pgiblock, @softrabbit, @wongcc966422 as well as a few new members you'll
see active in the issue tracker.

We use GitHub's Pull Request method for code quality control and comments,
which is tremendously useful and allows the pull request to be discussed
and altered prior to their acceptance. You probably are familiar with
GitHub, but it also ties in very well with the bug tracker which we make
very heavy use of.

If there is a major change you're looking to make, an email to this very
list is a good starting point. If you are looking to fix some small
annoyances with the software, please feel free to fork and create a pull
request.

I think I can speak for the whole team when I say that you're email is very
well received. We have a laundry list of wishes and bugs and only a few
people writing code and closing them out. Personally, I'm not (yet) a C++
coder myself, but I try my best to help fix problems where I can. We look
forward to working more with you!
