I only had time for a compile and brief test (without actually making
any sounds) and, I realize now, only checked the popup menu.

It will be fine I think, I wasn't quite certain how to operate the
LEDs though. As you say, this widget could do with some improvement.
What I missed the most is that it's not evident that it IS editable.
Adding a visible focus border might do the trick, I see an ordinary
check-box does this on my system.
