Yes, this version does work a lot like the Symbian version of Loadstone. It
does allow you to save your own points as well as having data integrated
from OpenstreetMap and other public sources.

While I have almost no experience with any iOS devices, if the latest version
of loadstone works in a fashion similar to the symbian version, then, as far
as I'm concerned, the primary advantage would be that it doesn't rely on
third-party map data, but, lets you define your own points, and then offers
directional instructions point to point.
So, this would then let you define your own routes, paying a lot more
attention to landmarks of the sort that are related to orientation and
mobility, etc.
But, like said, have no experience with iOS as such, and, the closest on the
android platform is dotwalker, but anyway.

Hello all,
I am just curious, what are the advantages of Loadstone
GPS for iOS versus other apps? There are a few apps that do similar
things. Maybe Loadstone is more accurate? If anyone can tel me it
would be muchly appreciated.
Oh, and is it possible to record rutes with Loadstone? Where you take
a spacific path, and once yu reach point 1, it then goes on to point 2
and tells you which way to go to get to it?
Thanks,
