Basically you can say the website is generated via in example maven,
then committed to a special svn branch:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/infra/websites/production/logging/content/log4cxx/
For this branch you currently don't have commit access as far as I know.
I will need to check if this is possible to give out to podlings (i
think it is, but don't know for sure).
I am gladly committing a new version of the site for you if there is a
problem with the permissions
I agree with your suggestion, you can definitely have websites for
different versions.
In example, it would be possible to publish a 0.x website (as it is now)
and additionally
a /dev website.
