We're using log4j in a WebLogic environment.
We want to do the same thing as you do, send
logs from many machines to one single log.

I ended up doing it with a SocketAppender. It
works just fine, except that we're seing that
it may buckle under heavy load. I can't confirm
if that is because we're just logging too much,
or if it is because the synchronized block is
too large in AppenderSkeleton.doAppend().
