Given that the serialized tree of an object can be very large, we have made a conscious decision not to serialize the message field in LoggingEvent. Please keep in mind that log4j is not a generic transport library, but a specialized library dealing only with logging events. If you wish to discuss this issue further, please post to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list.
