Hi Mark,
I've taken a (brief) look at the patch you submitted.
Two things:
* Can you remove the @author javadoc tags? The ASF officially discourages
author tags (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JSPWIKI-589). You can get
credit for your contribution by being listed as a Contributor on the Project
Team page (http://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/team-list.html).
* I saw some System.out.println output in some error handling code. Would you
mind using the StatusLogger instead?
