I understand that this is complex, as I've tried to implement it myself using a
wrapper class: it would indeed require translated various 2.0 classes to 1.2
equivalents in order to properly send the log event.
However, it would be a very important contribution: projects like Hadoop use
lots of custom log4j 1.2 appenders, and as it stands they cannot be used with
2.0 because of this.
