Gary Gregory commented on LOG4J2-543:

Another aspect to consider is whether implementing this cleanly would require
the current API to be adjuster or refactored.

Once 2.0 ships, the public API is set in stone until 3.0.

My suggestion is for the interested parties to flush out a prototype
implementation now to make sure it will fit in the 2.0 API.

> DataNucleus includes support for the JDO API which would be nice to support.
> This expands data source support quite significantly, and it would work
> better for non-SQL databases. See for example [DataNucleus
> JDO|http://www.datanucleus.org/products/accessplatform_3_3/jdo/api.html].
