I'd say try it and find out, I'm not sure if the documentation (or this list) will tell you... It may be as simple as the last one wins or you just get an error... Alan.

Hence, merging two property files defining the same category will lead to unexpected results. Thus, merging will only work properly with disjoint category definitions. Disjoint category definitions in turn mean that invoking PropertyConfigurator (or DOMConfigurator) on multiple times is safe as long as the category definitions in the different config files are disjoint....
