Unless Kevin has more information than me, or you guys are talking about
something entirely different, I am not aware that any configureAndWatch()
method changes or that the proposed Watchdog architecture are going to
affect the 1.2 release.

The proposed Watchdog architecture was not accepted for 1.2, but will be
looked at more fully for the 1.3 release.  The package I posted earlier is
compatible with the current 1.2beta release, and should be compatible with
the final release as well.  So, you can continue to use it.  If you have any
feedback about it, we will use it for whatever might (or might not) make it
into the 1.3 release.  We really want feedback so Watchdogs will be as
usable and useful as possible.
