Hi Thomas, many thanks for your prompt replies. I have sent my second correction posting already two minutes after the first mail, before having received your helpful answer. But for unknown reasons my second posting appeared at the log4j-list with some hours of delay. So it was no ignorance but apparently a technical problem instead (i sometimes face the same problem at the tomcat-user list also, always with my second or subsequent postings.
