All,

I was looking through a weblogic sample application recently that used
log4j. I noticed that it referenced the log4j.properties file by specifying
it in a command line property (Dlog4j.config=log4j.properties) rather than
let log4j look on the classpath. Also, the properties file was deployed
separately from the ear file.

I am looking to incorporate log4j in a future weblogic application. Is this
the "best practice"? Is there a reason log4j was set up this way?

Regards,

Joshua
