Infact, I changed as per the package structure of RollingFileAppender
class in the latest version 1.3 alpha 6.
(org.apache.log4j.rolling.RollingFileAppender).

I see.  You'll have to wait for the next release of Log4j-1.3alpha or
build from source to do what you are doing.  The RollingFileAppender in
the org.apache.log4j package was initially removed, and that's the state
of the existing binary alpha release.  Since then, for backward
compatibility, this appender was reinstated and should be able to be
configured just like in Log4j-1.2.  The RollingFileAppender in the
o.a.l.rolling package can only be configured using the
JoranConfigurator; that is, via log4j.xml, using the examples I
provided.
