    Try and trap a date when looking for the next backup number.

    A bit of a hack to trap the looping error when using a date in the log file 
that doesn't contain '-' and preserving the extension.

You can merge this pull request into a Git repository by running:

    $ git pull https://github.com/Snotface/log4net trunk

Alternatively you can review and apply these changes as the patch at:
