I agree fully. I wanted to wait a little bit until I finished migration from
maven to phing. However, that also included migration to Sphinx for docs and
moving the rest of the site to CMS, which is a bit of a pain and might take a
little while longer.
Also i think the Contributing patches page is woefully inadequate and should be
rewritten completely. Maybe get some inspiration from other projects which use
git.
I'll start updating the wiki, and continue as we progress.
